Lakeland - Some South Georgia students are being rewarded for their good grades and behavior.
Students at Lanier Elementary School in Lakeland held a Renaissance Rally today to celebrate academic excellence and good citizenship. The students marched in a parade from the elementary school to the high school, where they were given special awards and prizes.
"We felt that if we give them this fun time out of the classroom and these incentives, they'll be more likely to strive for good grades," said Kristie Russ, Lanier Elementary School Teacher.
Lanier Elementary School holds a Renaissance rally every 9 weeks.
