ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany Firefighters rescued a man from a burning home over the weekend.

There were five people inside this home in the 500 block of Eighth Avenue Saturday night about 10:35 when Firefighters were called.

They found 30 year old Harry Anderson in his bed inside the home, which Firefighters say was covered in heavy smoke and fire.

Anderson was transported to the hospital for treatment and later released. No one else was injured.

Investigators say the fire was caused by food left on the stove.

Most of the fire damage was in the kitchen and dining room.
