Worth County crash victim identified

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - One woman was killed after a fiery crash in Worth County around 3:30 Saturday morning on Highway 33 South near the Worth County and Colquitt County lines.

Firefighters say the driver, who was coming from Colquitt County, tried to avoid a vehicle passing another vehicle on the wrong side of the road when he swerved and crashed into a culvert.

Someone walking by pulled the driver out of the car with minor injuries.

When they went to retrieve the passenger, the vehicle burst into flames severely burning and killing the woman inside.

The driver was identified by Worth County Sheriff Freddie Thompkins as Charles Kinsey. The woman who died was identified as 45-year-old Carolyn Elaine Sheffield, of Turner County.
