ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Friday night a life long dream became reality for former Lee County Trojan D'Vontrey Richardson.
Richardson signed a contract to play professional baseball with the Milwaukee Brewers after being drafted in the 5th round of the major league draft in June.
Richardson played his college ball at Florida State and also played for the seminole football team.
Richardson had two years of elgiblity remaining at FSU and says leaving early for a pro baseball career was the right choice.
"It's all I ever thought about just being a pro athlete football or baseball but its all I ever thought about and now that its here I got to continue to strive for what I've always been wanting to do" said Richardson.
Richardson will report to Milwaukee for a physical before heading to Phoenix Arizona to begin playing with the Brewers Rookie League Affiliate in the Arizona League.Feedback
