Georgia defensive coordinator Willie Martinez wants Bainbridge's Nick Williams on the field in the Bulldog defense.
The question is where do you play the versatile Williams.
After playing safety at Bainbridge, Williams moved to linebacker last year as a freshman and was in the starting rotation coming of spring practice when he earned the Coffee County Hustle award.
The dismissal of safety John Knox over the summer prompted coaches to tell Williams he was moving back to the defensive backfield this season.
With the arrival of three freshmen defensive backs, Williams is back at linebacker where he say he still has plenty to learn.
Nick Williams said. "I am used to playing outside man to man out in the open space. It is a lot different. A lot of technique and a lot of footwork that goes with linebacker. It has been a big change for me but I am learning. I am learning day by day."
Williams says it has been hard work learning to play linebacker but fortunately he has been able to lean on former Bainbridge High teammate Darryl Gamble.
Williams said. "There has been plenty of times I have called him. Help me with this. Help me with that.. Help me with the tests. They give us tests. He has helped me out with a lot of things. I can go to him one on one and he will tell me. He has been like a big brother to me and that is what I have been needing."
Georgia will hold fan day on August 22nd at Sanford Stadium.
