ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Monroe's streak of postseason appearances came to an end last year.
Monroe will have experience this season.
Ten starters back on offense and eight are back on defense.
Justin Pride is ready to lead the Tornado offense at quarterback.
Dominque Lumpkin is back after an injury last season and receiver-defensive end Larry Whitfield is going to be a star on both sides of the football.
Experience along will not win games in region 1-AAA but head coach Charles Truitt hopes it pays off in the second half of those key region games.
Charles Truitt said "We had a down year with injuries. All teams have injuries. We had our share of them. We are looking at getting back on that winning track. These kids are working hard. So, we feel confident we can do it."
Monroe will open the season on the road at Kendrick on August 27th.
