VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Demetrius Nelson has been charged for his involvement in the death of 20-year-old Shenika Eady. Police say the two were being reckless with a handgun that 21-year old Nelson brought into the home.
Eady was found with a gunshot wound to the neck at 3126 Tyndall Drive on July 23. She died after being taken to South Georgia Medical Center.
He was picked up at the park on the corner of Tyndall and East Wind Drive hours after the shooting. Since then, he has been held at the Lowndes County Jail on unrelated charges.
On Tuesday, Nelson was charged with felony involuntary manslaughter, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and theft by receiving stolen property.
