ALBANY, GA (WALB) -People who live in the Central Albany neighborhood where Saturday's shooting happened say crime is hurting their property values.

Jeff Fee owns the duplex on North Madison where 20-year old Christopher Childress was shot as he tried to rob two men.

That duplex and the house next door where Fee lives are both for sale.

Monday Fee drastically dropped the asking price for his home because he knows buyers will be worried about crime.

He says Police could help fight gangs in the neighborhood if they got out of their cars and walked it more.   "I think that would make a huge impact on the crime rate in the neighborhood. Believe me the criminals do not want a strong police pressence on their block," Fee said.Fee bought the nearly 5000 square foot home in 2006 and has spent tens of thousands of dollars fixing up it and the duplex.

Now he worries he won't be able to sell them.
