Albany- Tuesday night the American Cancer Society kicked off the Dougherty-Lee County Relay for Life. This year is the 10th anniversary for the event.

All the money raised will go to South Georgians battling cancer. "One of the things that we really strive to do is we'd like to see cancer alleviated in our lifetime, and now we really think it can happen, so that's a great reason to get out and raise money for relay," says Chairman Jay Layer.

Members say this year there are more teens and young adults participating than in previous years. Opening ceremonies will be held on Friday, April 25th.
