Dougherty County principal has a lot to do!

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A Dougherty County school principal will now oversee more than just her school. She'll lead a statewide educators group.

It's not hard to see that Lincoln Magnet Elementary School Principal Sheryl Holmes is loved by parents and students as she heads down the hallways.

Now she has even more influence as Georgia's new President of PAGE. The Professional Association of Georgia Educators tries to make sure students get quality education.

"I am very honored to serve as President of PAGE, honored that my colleagues have chosen me to represent them and be a voice for them in making sure that our students in Georgia receive a quality education," said Holmes.

PAGE is made up of more than 75,000 teachers, para-professionals, secretaries and custodians. It lobbies legislators on education issues.
