ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Two vehicles collided in downtown Albany this afternoon and one of them overturned.

Forty-nine year old Andrew Crenshaw of Albany had to climb out of the tailgate of his SUV after it rolled onto the drivers side in the middle of Pine Avenue at the intersection with North Jefferson Street.

Police say, 78 year old Janie Lowe hit Crenshaw, and her truck then ran up onto the sidewalk. Benjamin Foster was riding in his motorized chair along the sidewalk and had to move quickly to get out of the way.

"I was coming down the sidewalk I was fixing to go this way when I saw that happen I mashed the thing back and went back that way," said Benjamin Foster, a witness.

A red light camera had been installed at that intersection, but was dismantled in 2007 after the camera failed to work properly.
