Lee County-- One Lee County teacher is numero uno. She's only been in the classroom for six years, but this first grade instructor was chosen as Lee County's Teacher of the Year.

Jaimie Murdock was picked by other teachers at Lee County Primary as the best from their school. She competed with teachers from other Lee County schools, but the final selection was made by a group of educators from other counties.

Ms. Murdock stood out from the others by the way she involves her students in the learning process, "I believe in engaging work and learn by doing. Everything we learn we learn by doing throughout the day."

As teacher of the year, the school system will pay for Mrs. Murdock to attend a staff development conference. This is the third year in a row a Lee County Primary teacher has been selected for the honor.
