State champion Knights have skill but need beef up front

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Many high school football teams held their first official practice of the season on Saturday August 1st.

The state champion Deerfield-Windsor wrapped up their summer camp on Friday.

The Knights getting to practice early because the open the season a week early.

Deerfield-Windsor has the skill to repeat with running back Tony Zenon and fullback Quentin Adkins returning.

Banks Kinslow is ready to take over at quarterback and Davis Moore, Justin Webb and Albany High transfer Reggie Brown will give the Knights more weapons on offense.

Coach Allen Lowe is confident linebackers Michael Michas and Rhett Cooper are ready to lead the defense.

The challenge though is rebuilding both lines of scrimmage.

Deerfield-Windsor coach Allen Lowe said. "We feel like we have got some talented players. What we have got to do is find that right mix of guys. Find a way to keep them where we can play four quarters hard."

Deerfield-Windsor opens the season on August 21st at home against George Walton.
