ALBANY, GA (WALB) -An old building in Downtown Albany is being gutted and transformed into a brand new restaurant.

The Broad Avenue building is the former home of the Harvest Moon Restaurant. Now it's being renovated for a new restaurant called My Downtown Bistro.

Owner Matthew Beard says the food will be an upscale version of Sunday afternoon lunch at Grandma's. He said, "I'm excited, almost a little too anxious. Ready for it to be going. We've been working on and off on this since about December of last year planning and kind of getting things in line."

Beard hopes to have renovations complete and the restaurant open by Labor Day.
