Ochlocknee, GA (WALB) - Surveillance cameras were rolling early Wednesday morning inside Quick Buys on U.S. 19 in Ochlocknee while thieves were at work on the outside.
About 2 a.m., store video captured a man tying a chain around the store's ATM and connecting it to a pickup truck. Minutes later, the truck drives away, pulling the ATM through the window.
The suspects were driving what appears to be a gold colored truck with a chrome toolbox. Working as a team, one of the thieves smashed the window and hooked a chain around the cash machine. The ATM, which was bolted to the floor, sent glass and bricks flying as it was towed away.
Store management says the damages will likely total more that $ 1,000. Quick Buys doesn't own the ATM and it isn't known how much money the crooks got away with.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Thomas County Sheriff's Office.
