ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The tax rate for Albany property owners won't go up.

Tuesday night, commissioners formally approved the millage rate and stressed they're working to keep it down.

Some critics complain the millage rate is too high and should have been lowered more, after county-wide reassessments increased the values of many properties.

Commissioner Roger Marietta pointed out the city lowered the rate four consecutive years and have since held it steady for three straight years.
