THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - A lack of confidence won't be an issue for the Thomasville Bombers as they prepare for The Great South Playoffs

At one point this season the Bombers had lost 10 in a row but that is all ancient history as far as the Bombers are concerned.

The Bombers have won 9 of their last 13 games and have earned a 2 seed in the playoffs.

The Bombers head to Columbus for the tournament on Wednesday and say the team's recent success should give them an advantage.

"To finish up the way we have going into the playoffs is a plus but we have to play our best baseball to make any noise so it's huge" said pitcher Jeremy Jones.

"It's a perfect time to be winning games. We've got the playoffs coming up and you know a lot of people say summer ball is you know go out there and have fun but at the same time you're working on stuff and it's competitive and you still want to win" said right fielder Drew Johnson.

The Bombers open up the double elimination tournament at 9:00 Thursday morning against St. Augustine.
