THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - A Thomasville woman surprised three young burglars when she went home for her lunch hour.

When Rhonda Harkness pulled up to her house on Powell Drive, she saw a strange dog on her porch and a shattered glass panel on her door.

She went inside, heard talking in a back bedroom and then saw three young teens jump out of a window and run.

That strange dog on her porch proved to be a big break for deputies.

"The dog got out and the deputies followed the dog home, to it's home where we located three juvenile suspects," said Inv. David Godwin with the Thomas Co. Sheriff's Office.

Two 14 year olds and a 15 year old boy are charged with burglary.

Deputies recovered a stolen rifle and other stolen items from the house where the boys were found.

Deputies believe the three are responsible for four other burglaries in the Harkness's neighborhood over the past week and a half.
