Donalsonville - A Donalsonville minister, working as a volunteer firefighter, is killed while responding to an emergency call.
Thirty-six-year-old Lattie Floyd Collins the third of Donalsonville was driving to the Downtown Donalsonville Fire Department Wednesday morning to assist with a car wreck.
Troopers say Collins pulled out in front of a car at the intersection of US 84 and Wool Fork Avenue. He was broad sided by another car and killed.
The driver of the other car, 47-year-old Vernecca Smith and her passenger, 50-year-old Calvin Williams, were not seriously injured.
Collins was the minister at First Presbyterian Church and the Chaplain for the Seminole County Sheriff's office.
