HOOVER, AL (WALB) - What a difference a year makes for the Georgia football team.

The Bulldogs were the toast of the SEC media days last year when they were the preseason number one team in the nation.

This year no one in Hoover is talking national championship and Georgia. That is conversation that goes for the Florida Gators.

With Matthew Stafford and Knowshon Moreno now in the NFL, quarterback Joe Cox and the rest of the Bulldogs are enjoying a quiet summer of work for the coming season.

The Bulldogs say they do not miss the spotlight that was shining on them last preseason and look forward to proving their doubters wrong this fall.

Georgia quarterback Joe Cox said. "I think it is the best thing that could have happened to us. It has brought everybody together. We want to do that much better just to try to prove people wrong and it has made us work that much harder."

Senior defensive tackle Jeff Owens said. "We are the underdogs. We have something to prove. We are trying to go out there and be successful."

Georgia opens the 2009 season on September 5th at Oklahoma State.
