BIRMINGHAM, AL (WALB) - The games don't start for another six weeks but college football is underway in the Southeastern Conference.

The annual SEC football media days kicked off Wednesday afternoon.

Bainbridge's Malcolm Sheppard joining Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino in Birmingham on Wednesday to discuss the 2009 Razorback season.

Sheppard is one of 17 returning starters for a Hogs team that is ready to make run in the SEC west this year.

Sheppard led Arkansas in sacks last year and is a second team all-SEC player at defensive tackle.

Sheppard and offensive tackle Ray Dominguez have everyone in Bainbridge going hog wild over Razorback football.

Malcolm Sheppard said. "I was the first player to commit to Arkansas. My buddy Ray Dominguez wanted to come along too. Bainbridge, my hometown, is just big fans of Razorbacks. It is definitely special to be a player from Bainbridge to play for Arkansas."

Arkansas opens the season on September 5th against Missouri State and their second game is the 19th at home against Georgia.
