Albany-  Zell Miller's announcement shocked and saddened his admirers, especially Lieutenant Governor Mark Taylor of Albany. Taylor says, "Senator Miller's announcement really upset me."

Taylor says Miller has always been a political role model, and he has helped Georgia grow and prosper. Taylor adds, "Senator Miller has done a lot for Georgia, especially with the Hope Scholarship."

Mark Taylor Miller's new colleague in the U.S. Senate, Saxby Chambliss of Moultrie, also had words of praise, saying Zell Miller has given unparalleled service to our state and nation.

Now thoughts turn to who's next? Now that Democrats have lost their stronghold in Georgia, will Mark Taylor look to Washington for future political office?

Taylor, says, "Miller says he is not supporting any candidate. He helped me become Lieutenant Governor, and I look forward to serving Georgians in that position during the next four years."

Taylor says while Zell Miller's political career may end in 2004, his political legacy will live on.
