ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Darton coach Dale Dover is not only an excellent recruiter of talent.

He also does a great job recruiting financial support in this tough economy.

The Stonebridge Men's Golf Association presented Darton with a $1,000 check for scholarships for a Cavalier golf team that in the last five years won three straight NJCAA national titles from 2005-07 and two consecutive national runner-up finishes in the last two years.

Coach Dover also had some bad news with Lon An deciding not to return for his sophomore season.

Coach Dover says An is exploring his options at turning professional out west.

Dover believes the best thing for An's career would be to return for his second season at Darton.

Dover though is very grateful the help he gets from Stonebridge and the other golf clubs in the city that donate money and facilities.

Dale Dover said. "This is the only way that we would be able to do what we do at Darton with the golf program is with the support of the community."

Darton has two players returning with very limited experience and five new recruits.
