ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Some Albany church leaders are giving Albany youth a push in the right direction.

For the past several months, a group of teenagers have gathered for the PUSH movement. PUSH stands for Peers Uniting Successfully and Holy.

The young men and women enjoy everything from prayer and inspirational word to music and peer-to-peer conversations. It's a positive outlet for those who may not have been exposed to church growing up.

"We actually want to create an environment where they can talk like they talk to their friends. They talk about sex, drugs and things like that to their friends and we want to create that same environment however in this particular place you can get some help, healing and deliverance from situations that you're going through," said Youth Pastor Gabriel Powell.

PUSH is organized by Rhema Word International Ministries and it's held every Monday night at Amehr on West Oglethorpe. The event is free.
