ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  An East Albany car dealership was hit by thieves who caused thousands of dollars in damage.   AutoMaxx of Georgia on East Oglethorpe was broken into early Sunday.

Eight cars were broken into, and car steros stolen.

This was the second time in two months that thieves have targeted this dealership. Twelve cars were broken into in May. They think the thieves are young people from the area.

"The ones that already have after market stereos in them," said Manager Pete Dudley. "That are easy to pop out, easy to go ahead and pop the dash and pop the kit. Those are the ones they are targetting."

Dudley says it will cost about $300 a car to replace the stereos and fix the damage. AutoMaxx is now installing more surveillance cameras and improving security at their lot to stop the thefts.
