VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -  Sheriff's investigators say it appears Hispanics are being targeted in a recent string of home invasions.

Robert Price lives close to the area where the home invasion occurred.  "There is other ways to do things and go about getting help instead of stealing," said Price.

He believes that people are getting desperate during these economic times. While mobile homes have been recently targeted Sheriff's say all residential areas should report anything that might look suspicious to local authorities.

The home invasion occurred on 122 off of Cat Creek Road. It's very similar to the one that happened last week.

"A black male and black female went into a house with a gun and robbed the occupants," said Captain Wanda Edwards of the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators would not release what was taken at the time because it is an ongoing investigation.

"One of the victims was able to call 911," Edwards said.

With word of this crime, Price wants to protect himself even more.

"I thought about putting up security cameras and lights and things and chaining the doors," Price said.

Edwards added the importance of relying on neighborhood watches.  One of the victims went to a neighbor and called 911. There related and the one the city is having.

Investigators don't have a detailed description of the robbers. They're both black and one's a man, the other's a woman.

If you see anything suspicious you should call law officers.
