ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A night at the South Georgia Wildcats game turned violent for two people Saturday night.
According to police reports, officers were called out to the Civic Center after a fight broke in the parking lot around 11:30 Saturday night. A witness told police a group of about 10 to15 black juveniles walked by, said something, and then continued walking. It was shortly after this that the witness told investigators the group began beating another teen, 15-year-old Craig Reddix.
27-year-old Travis Dixson saw what was going on and tried to break up the fight, but the suspects then jumped him. Dixson suffered only minor injuries, but Reddix suffered a swollen right eye after being punched several times. The suspects took off running before officers arrived.
Reddix was taken to Medical Center of Central Georgia and is listed in fair condition after undergoing surgery.
So far, only one possible suspect in this case has been identified. The victims told police they didn't know the attackers and no one is in custody.
Anyone with information about this is asked to contact the Albany Police Department.
