Lowndes County - Airmen scheduled to deploy to the Middle East from Moody Air Force Base Tuesday are still in Lowndes County after their trip was postponed.

A medium contingent was scheduled to fly out Tuesday afternoon, but that deployment was delayed until further notice.

Meanwhile, the war readiness unit is working double shifts to ensure when the order comes, troops are ready to go. Moody officials say this is a routine delay and the group will deploy soon.

"We're on hold right now, but we're ready and as soon as we get word, we'll be there," said Lt. Col. Efren Garcia.

A smaller contingent is scheduled to leave the base Wednesday morning.
