ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Leaders from around the state met in Albany today to discuss ways of bringing the old and outdated back to life. The Department of community affairs held a workshop downtown to let leaders know about options in revitalizing properties.

They learned about programs and tax incentives that can be offered to property and business owners as well.  Dawn Sturbaum said, "We're just helping communities to understand what those laws do and how they can utilize them to revitalize their communities and bring in business, revamp it."

Thursday's training was to help leaders diagnose problems in their communities and generate strategies to attract development and fight poverty and blight.
