While all the attention in baseball this week at the All-Star game in St. Louis, the San Francisco Giants made some big news with a big move involving their number one draft pick last year Leesburg's Buster Posey.
The Giants finally promoting Posey from their Class A farm team in San Jose to their AAA team in Fresno.
A move that has been rumored for weeks and will increase speculation the Giants plan to have the former Florida State Seminole in their major league lineup next year.
Buster Posey was an all-star in the California League at San Jose with a ,326 batting average, 13 homeruns and 58 runs batted in.
The Giants wanted Posey to improve his defense in the minor leagues this year since it is only the third season he has played catcher.
Posey was doing just that in throwing 49% of attempted base stealers.
Buster Posey's first game with the Fresno Grizzlies comes Thursday night in Colorado Springs.Feedback
