ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Dozens of high school football players are learning more than just football skills this week in Americus.
Georgia Southwestern University is the site for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes team camp.
11 teams are taking part in seven on seven passing games and the linemen are taking part in drills of their own.
After the football drills campers attend services which feature guest speaker and Georgia Tech Chaplain Derrick Moore.
The former Monroe Tornado spent several years in the NFL and is hoping he can inspire the campers on and off the field.
"An opportunity to communicate the kinds of things both athletically but also spiritually that's made a difference in my life and I think it's exciting to be able to share that with young people who are still maturing" said Moore.
Westover, Dougherty, Thomasville, Bainbridge, Tift County, and Thomas County Central are among the teams taking part in the camp which concludes on Wednesday.
