ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Albany man was arrested over the weekend in Tifton after leading police on a wild chase while his 2-year-old son was in the car.

Tifton Police tried to stop 20-year-old Tenorris Edward Wright for a seat-belt violation on Virginia Avenue around 9:00 Saturday night. He kept going, nearly hitting three cars, including a police cruiser.

At one point his car went airborne, all while his 2-year-old child wasn't even restrained.

Four minutes into the chase, Wright bailed out of the Chevy Impala, abandoning his child with the car still in drive. It rolled through a yard along Dixie Avenue before coming to a stop. Luckily the child wasn't hurt.

Police found Wright hiding under a bed in an apartment. He is being held in the Tift County Jail facing numerous charges including child endangerment and attempting to elude police.

He was also wanted on a domestic violence charge in Dougherty County.
