ALBANY, GA (WALB) - To help fight crime, one group hopes to rally for change.

A small crowd gathered in the 200 block of South Jackson Street, organizers hope the rally is a start to a better community.

Many people who live there say they're tired of the violence.

There was a shooting on that block just a week ago.

Brenda Randell has lived on the street for about three years and says she's ready to help better her neighborhood.

"I've seen a lot of stuff going on in the community and I have four kids of my own and it's very frightening because when my kids step outside in the morning time I don't know wether they're coming back that evening," said Brenda Randell, South Jackson Resident.

For parolees and people who're trying to start their lives over again, Heavenly Way a Christian ministry, will help out with classes to get them back on their feet.
