ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Dozens of young people gathered for a fundraising concert to help a teenager seriously injured in a crash last month.

Five bands put on a benefit concert at Thronateeska Plaza in Albany to help 19-year-old Benjamin Daniel and his family pay bills.

He fell asleep at the wheel and crashed not far from his home in Colquitt County.

Daniel is being treated at Shepherd Spinal Center in Atlanta now. Friends paid five dollars to attend the concert.

"We were very fortunate to have a lot people help us and come out and pray for us, he's doing pretty good he still can't breathe on his own and his phenomena is clearing up," said John Mark Daniel, Benjamin's Brother.

Daniel is paralyzed from the neck down.

The family will use to money for his medical expenses and to travel to and from Atlanta.

To find out how you can help call Benjamin's brother John Mark at (229) 921-7323, or his brother Will at (404) 210-3691.
