EARLY COUNTY, GA (WALB) - An Alabama man is charged with Boating Under the Influence after an accident seriously injured three young girls.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources says Samuel Kyle of Cottonwood, Alabama was drinking while boating in the Chattahoochee River in Early County over the fourth of July weekend.

He was pulling his 10-year old daughter and two 11-year olds on a water tube.

Officers say when Kyle made a sharp turn, the girls were thrown off the tube onto some rocks.

All three girls needed surgery and are still in the hospital.

Doctors expect them to recovery, but law enforcers hope this serves as a reminder to be cautious on the water this summer.
