Valdosta - South Georgia Medical Center has been ranked number one in food quality by the SatisQuest Inpatient Survey.

The hospital uses a "Catering to you" dining system, which allows each patient to choose their meal and enjoy a restaurant like dining experience in their own hospital room. A catering assistant takes each patient's order an hour before meal time, delivers the meal promptly, and returns after the meal to make sure everything was satisfactory.

"Food service is so important because a patient won't remember what kind of pill they took or what kind of injection they were given, but they will remember the quality of food and care they are given," said Sarah Jackson, SGMC Food Services.

This is the second quarter in a row South Georgia Medical Center's food services department has been ranked number one.
