VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - A car crash in Valdosta Wednesday night claimed the life of a Moultrie man.

22-year-old Joshua Broom was killed when he lost control of his car on Jerry Jones Drive. It happened just before 11:00 PM.

Broom lost control of his Chevy Silverado and crashed into an F-150 that was stopped at the stop sign at Jerry Jones and Lake Drive.

Broom's Silverado turned over into a ditch.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Broom was driving over the speed limit, and was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck.  The driver of the F-150, 40-year-old Artis Bass, was not injured.
