Two Georgia Soldiers who were supporting Operation Enduring Freedom have been killed in action in Afghanistan.
Sgt. Brock Henry Chavers Sr., 25, of Statesboro assigned to Americus' Company D, 2nd Battalion, 121st Infantry; and Spc. Isaac Lee Johnson Jr., 24, of Columbus assigned to Rome's Troop A, 1st Battalion, 108th Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition (RSTA) Squadron died July 6 of wounds sustained from an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) near Kunduz, Afghanistan.
Sergeant Chavers and Specialist Johnson were members of the 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team.
