Two shot; kid held at gunpoint

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Two people were shot overnight and a 12-year-old boy was held at gunpoint.

At 3:30 Sunday morning, Albany police responded to the 2100 block of South Jackson Street.

Police say LaSamuel Green and Dermund Stewart told them they were shot at by their cousin after an argument.

One of the bullets hit 17-year-old LaSamuel in the arm.

Police are still looking for Michael Jones.

Just moments later, police responded to Brick City Records on Schilling Avenue where a group of women were arguing outside.

Police say 19-year-old Jacory Butts was running away from the argument through the parking lot when he realized he was shot in the ankle.

Police don't know who fired the shots. Butts was treated for his injuries at the hospital.

Officers also responded to the 2300 block of West Gordon after midnight.

Rodney Battle told police his 12-year-old son was at a friend's house when a man there held a gun to the back of his head.

The boy was not injured and no one was arrested.

    Preliminary investigations revealed the female victim fell from a billboard while conducting routine maintenance, and suffered fatal injury, according to Lowndes County Coroner Austin J. Fiveash.
