VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - An early morning shooting in Valdosta left one dead, and another badly injured.

Around 1:30 Sunday morning, Valdosta Police responded to a call reporting multiple gunshots had been fired at the Stone Creek Apartments on Melody Lane.

Upon their arrival, police found one victim had been shot to death inside a vehicle parked outside the apartments.  Another injured victim was found lying on a nearby patch of grass.

Both victims had received multiple gunshot wounds to their bodies.

The injured person was immediately given first aid and transported to a local hospital, where they remain in serious condition.

Numerous witnesses were interviewed by detectives and officers.

No arrests have yet been made, but the Valdosta Police are working hard to follow up on all leads and evidence that was obtained at the scene.

At this point in time, police are keeping the identities of both victims--and whereabouts of the injured victim--confidential, in an effort to protect that individual.

Police ask anyone with information to contact the Investigations Unit at 229-293-3145.  You can also remain anonymous by calling the crime tip line at 229-293-3091.
