ALBANY, GA (WALB) - With the big 4th of July bang in downtown Albany this weekend you can also get a little extra bang for your buck.

The city of Albany's Independence Day Celebration will kick off at four o'clock Saturday on Front Street. Downtown attractions hope you'll incorporate them in your plans.

The Flint Riverquarium and Thronateeska Heritage Center teamed up to offer a joint pass. For $8 you can get access to the Thronateeska History and Science Museums, the planetarium and the Riverquarium.

"We've opened up a new facility now and last year during this time we were under construction. Now that we're up and running, it's just a way that we can give back to the community and celebrate the 4th of July holiday," said Thronateeska Executive Director Tommy Gregors.

The trail between the Riverquarium and Thronateeska is now open for easy travel between the attractions. Opening ceremonies for the fireworks celebration begins at 8:45 p.m.
