Valdosta BOE searches for new coach

December 26, 2002

Valdosta - The Valdosta Board of Education has begun its search for a new head football coach and athletic director.

The search committee was recently appointed by Board Chairman Dr. Joe Crane to find a replacement for former coach Mike O'Brian who was fired at last week's school board meeting. They say they're looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years classroom and coaching experience and a valid Georgia teaching certificate.

The new coach will oversee the high school football program with the most wins in the nation, holding 23 state and 6 national titles.
