ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Albany infant was badly burned overnight. Now police are investigating the case.

Police were called to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital just after midnight Saturday to take a look at a three-month old girl with burns.

The incident happened in an apartment at the Village Complex off of Nottingham Way.

Investigators are not releasing how she was burned, but they're treating this as a child cruelty case.

The infant was transported to the Burn Center in Augusta for treatment.
