ALBANY, GA (WALB) - It was a violent initiation by the Black Gangsta Disciples that led to the death of an Albany man. We now know that 32-year-old Reginald Richardson was beaten to death earlier this week while being initiated.

A group of men who beat the towering former prison guard so badly that he died. Three of them are in jail and police are looking for two others. Police say between 15 and 20 gang members beat down the 240-pound Richardson early Tuesday.

Three of them are already charged with murder and they have the names of two others they're looking for.

32-year old David Freeman and 32-year old Ernest Scoop Thomas were charged with murder and gang participation.

Thursday afternoon, they also arrested 22-year-old Orlando Charlot, Junior with murder. The two people who took Richardson to the hospital lied to police about what happened, and they were also charged with gang crimes as well.

"When you get into a gang they call it a beat down," said Albany Police Capt. Mack Green. "Where they take you out and beat you up. You know, they beat you with their hands, kick you. Beat you up. On this occasion, they beat him up too bad, because they killed him."

Police are asking your help finding two more men for questioning, 33-year-old Gregory Marshall and 26-year-old Yaaeil Shelton.

Police say this just shows how dangerous gangs are, and say they are many more arrests expected in this gang murder.  If you have any information about this gang murder, you could earn a reward, call CRIME STOPPERS at 229-436-TIPS.
