ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Firefighters rushed to Albany's Procter and Gamble plant overnight to control a potentially dangerous chemical reaction.

Fire crews were called to P&G around 1:00AM after plant employees noticed a pallet of Sodium Hydro Sulphate smoldering.

Employees removed the pallet containing the chlorine product outside where firefighters and HAZMAT crews isolated it and watered it down.

Sodium Hydro-Sulphate is the same chemical that had a similar reaction just more than a month ago at the Albany plant.

Plant operations were not disrupted and no one was evacuated or injured.
