ALBANY, GA (WALB) - With four games left it is understandable the South Georgia Wildcats have injury problems like other AF2 teams.
Savage injured his knee in the first half of Saturday's loss at Kentucky.
Wildcats head coach Rodney Blackshear said there was nothing torn in Savage's knee and his status is day to day.
With a bye week next week, coach Blackshear admits he is thinking about sitting Savage and giving him two weeks to recover and be ready for the final month of the season and playoffs.
Rodney Blackshear said. "We are close to getting in the playoffs. We don't want to get him out there. Get him hurt and be done for the year. If he has to miss four weeks even going into the playoffs. As long as he gets back healthy."
Coach Blackshear says that quarterback Darnell Kennedy's knee is much better and the team will have center Rico Ochoa back in the lineup for Saturday's game at Florida.
