ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A civic group in Albany hopes to give the gift of sight to those in need.
The Lions Club received a check from Sam's Club Tuesday for a one thousand dollar grant which will help provide eye and hearing exams as well as glasses and hearing aids.
For every dollar donated, five dollars in services are donated to people in need.
"It makes your heart just want to explode because you know that you're helping someone be able to see their children, go to work and provide for their families that they would not otherwise be able to do," said Lions Club President Cheryl Meadows.
This Saturday from 10:00 until 2:00 at the Good Samaritan Clinic on North Jefferson in Albany, free eye exams will be offered to the uninsured and underinsured.
