LOWNDES COUNTY, GA (WALB) - An elderly man drowned in Lowndes County early Tuesday morning after his boat capsized.

70-year-old Jimmy Williams was fishing at Paradise Island Fish Camp when his boat tipped over.

A close friend had dropped Williams off at the camp around 7 o'clock in the morning.  It wasn't until 9:00 AM that a neighbor noticed the cap-sized vessel and called for help.

Williams' body was discovered around 2 o'clock PM, in approximately 10 feet of water.

While Williams was an ardent fisherman, authorities say he did not know how to swim.
