Albany- With Christmas less than a week away, the Salvation Army is in need of your help to reach its goal for the year.

Major Jim Amburgey, says the Salvation Army has collected twenty percent less than what they collected last year from the Red Kettle project. As of now, they have collected seventy thousand dollars. There original goal was one hundred seventy five thousand, but they are worried they will not reach the goal.

The Salvation Army will be collecting money until Christmas Eve. Amburgey says if they don't get the money they need, they may have to close their shelter.
