ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A gruesome discovery for some Albany residents after they find a bloody man at their door step. There is a trail of blood leading to apartment R7 in the Westwind Apartment Complex.

That was where witnesses say 35-year-old Kurtez Sherman was shot in the shoulder, arm and leg Friday night.

Sherman told residents that he was shot while trying to run away after being robbed. He told them the gunman named Val was driving a maroon Pontiac van.

"I asked him to trust me, and he said I will trust you, officer Martin. We waited on the ambulance to get there," said courtesy officer, Christina Martin.

"I ran inside her apartment to grab a towel to try to cut off the bleeding. And I held of the blooding with my hand on the back of his shoulder. "

Albany Police are investigating this shooting. Anyone with any information about this case can call crime stoppers at 229-436-TIPS.
